"Communities of Character" Op-Ed column by David Brooks reflects much of what Watershed School does best. During this week's All-School Meeting, Watershed students and faculty read Brooks' article in small groups and discussed ways in which Watershed already builds community with intention and explored ideas for how to strengthen our community going forward.

Watershed School has expanded its faculty with the creation of a new Dean of Students position and the promotion of Jude Masseur to take on the new role. Senior, Emma Faunce begins her second year studying American Sign Language with Leonore Boerner. Beorner is on the faculty at the University of Southern Maine in the Linguistics Department and also works through the Maine Educational Center for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing at the Baxter School. Jillian Galloway rowed her way to a first place, women's division finish at the annual Megunticook Rowing Regatta this past Sunday, September 13th. Participants came from far-away places including Vermont, New Hampshire, and Connecticut as well as in-state competitors from Yarmouth and Portland. The regatta included both a 3-mile and 10-mile race around the lake. The weather was cool and the water stayed calm throughout for a fantastic race for all!
